Immerse yourself in Yoga philosophy on it’s place of origin
Welcome
If you are searching for Traditional Indian Yoga in Netherlands that goes further than a passing studio trend, Indian Classical Yoga is usually where that search ends. We teach authentic yoga the way it has been carried through the Indian tradition for generations, not a modern reinterpretation pieced together from books and video classes. Founded in 2012 by Pinky More and Richard Slager and affiliated with The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, one of the oldest organized yoga institutions in the world, we bring classical yoga to Dutch and wider European students through teacher training, retreats, and courses built on lineage rather than trend. Whether you live near Arnhem, Bilthoven, or elsewhere in the Netherlands, this page is your starting point.
Indian Classical Yoga is traditional yoga, as it has been taught in India for generations, connecting physical practice, breath, mental discipline, and philosophy into one holistic path rather than treating asana as exercise on its own. It follows the teachings passed down through The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, founded in 1918, and is built around Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Kriya, Pranayama, and meditation. Rather than a fitness trend, it is a complete lifestyle approach to health and self-understanding.

Meet Our Team
We are Pinky More and Richard Slager. We teach Yoga as it is intended in the Indian traditions. That is why we are affiliated with the oldest organised yoga centre in the world, have found an energetic and peaceful location in the middle of nature for our courses and select guest teachers who share our ideals. We apply what we have learned in practice and we are happy to share it with you!
We run a Yoga Teacher Training Course, residential courses, a Yoga and Ayurveda Course, and retreats across three countries, so where you study largely depends on the pace and format that fits your life.
Our course is offered at two on-campus locations, Arnhem and Bilthoven, with the same 200-hour, Yoga Alliance-accredited syllabus taught over approximately one year of weekend study. Designed for working professionals and parents, the programmes cover asana, pranayama, kriya, meditation, Sanskrit, and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. The Arnhem programme, The Science of Life, focuses on a steady, community-based learning experience, while Bilthoven includes an additional Ayurveda component covering diet, constitution, and lifestyle.
Both locations provide a consistent, part-time path to internationally recognized certification while allowing students to continue their daily lives. For those looking for a Yoga TTC Netherlands option close to home, Arnhem and Bilthoven offer the same strong foundation. Students who wish to advance further can continue with our advanced teacher training in Rishikesh.
Our Yoga TTC in Europe is taught entirely in English and attracts students from across the continent. Whether you join us in Arnhem, Bilthoven, or Centre Lothorien in France, you’ll study within the same Yoga Institute lineage under senior teachers with decades of experience. This consistency in teaching and tradition makes our English-language Yoga TTC a distinctive choice for students from across Europe.
For graduates with a 200-hour certificate, our Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikeshcovers Samkhya, Vedanta, the Bhagavad Gita and 108 asanas. Led by Yogacharya Shivam Goswami and Dr. Shivam Mishra, this one-month residential course follows an ashram-style setting. The final week takes students to Varanasi for deeper spiritual learning and cultural experience. Students without prior training should complete a basic 200-hour course in the Netherlands or France first.
Our residential Yoga Teacher Training Course in France offers a 200-hour program in one immersive month at Centre Lothlorien.
Combining asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and teaching practice, the course includes vegetarian meals and comfortable chateau-style accommodation. It meets RYT 200 standards and prepares students for Yoga Alliance registration.
A yoga and meditation retreat in the Netherlands offers a lighter alternative to full residential yoga teacher training. Our one- and multi-day Ayurveda and Yoga workshops combine asana, philosophy, sattvic meals, relaxation, and practical exercises. Workshops are held in nature-surrounded studios across Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Oosterbeek, and Arnhem. For a longer residential experience, students based in the Netherlands can join retreats at Centre Lothlorien in France.
Ayurveda is integrated into our yoga teaching, with both founders bringing firsthand training from Kerala in Ayurveda, herbology, Ayurvedic massage and Pancha Karma therapy. Students seeking a yoga and Ayurveda course can choose the Bilthoven teacher training, combining the 200-hour yoga syllabus with dedicated Ayurveda study. For a shorter introduction, join our Ayurveda and Yoga workshops focused on eating and living according to your constitution.
Yoga as a way of life goes beyond asana, including breath, ethics, concentration, self-study, and yoga for self-development. Our approach draws on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Four Pillars of Yoga, and the Bhavas to apply yoga beyond the mat. As a holistic yoga lifestyle course, our syllabus connects nutrition, philosophy, breathing, meditation, physical postures, and spiritual growth. Some proceeds also support orphan girls in India, helping give back to the tradition that inspires our teaching.
Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds: healthcare professionals, teachers, therapists, corporate employees looking for a career change, and dedicated practitioners who want to understand their personal practice more deeply. What they share is a willingness to commit to sustained study, whether that is a full year of weekend classes in the Netherlands or a single immersive month in France or Rishikesh, and a genuine interest in yoga for self-development rather than only a physical routine. You do not need previous teaching experience to join. A consistent personal practice helps, but our teachers are happy to talk through whether the Netherlands program, a foundational course in France, or one of our workshops is the better starting point for where you are now.
Every yoga teacher training program we run, in Arnhem, Bilthoven, France or Rishikesh, shares the same foundation: direct affiliation with The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, founded in 1918 by Shri Yogendra, and Yoga Alliance-accredited certification recognized internationally. Our senior teachers hold verifiable credentials rather than a single weekend certificate, including advanced and seven-month teacher training completed at The Yoga Institute itself, an Ayurveda study in Kerala, and, for the Rishikesh program, government certification under India's Ministry of AYUSH, a Guinness World Record in yoga asana, and a PhD in yoga philosophy. We avoid exaggerated claims about transformation or guaranteed results. What we can point to instead is a specific lineage, named teachers, and a syllabus you can review before you commit weeks and real money to a course.
