Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course
Once you start the path of Yoga, you will realise there is a lot more to learn. There are deeper layers of self-development and many practices, philosophical concepts and Indian scriptures are yet to be discovered.
This course is for those students who have already started implementing Yoga in their life and are ready for the next step.
It is suitable for you if you have done a 200 hour Yoga TTC at The Yoga Institute or one of its locations. or a 200 hour Yoga TTC elsewhere and you have:
– practical experience with basic asanas and pranayamas;
– a basic understanding of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras;
– knowledge of the Yamas and Niyamas and apply them to some extent;
– understanding of the components of Citta and have begun to develop a selfless attitude to some extent.
(If the above does not apply to you, even if you have experience, we recommend the 200 hour Yoga TTC).
The course is led by Pinky More. In India Pinky completed her Yoga education before she moved to Europe. With her Indian background and understanding of the european way of life and perceptions of Yoga she is the perfect person to make a bridge between the different countries and cultures.
In this course she is assisted by local Yoga Teachers who have experience with the complete package of Yoga practices and a deep rooted understanding of the Yoga philosophy and its cultivation in daily life.
Yogacharya Shivam Goswami lives in Rishikesh. He is Worldchampion in Yoga Asana, winner of many gold medals on international level and record holder in among others the Guiness Book of Records. Shivam is the founder of Lakshya Yog Foundation.
After his graduation from Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut, he has done his Masters in yoga subject 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in yoga subject and 2 year post graduate degree Uttarakhand Sanskrit the university has completed from Haridwar. Shivam is a certified yoga teacher from the Ministry of AYUSH and has completed 500 hours of yttc from the US Alliance Shivam Goswami aims to promote yoga in different dimensions and help in taking yoga to the pinnacle in the country and the world.

Dr. Shivam Mishra is a highly respected yoga expert, educator, and visionary leader in the global yoga community. With over 15 years of dedicated experience, he has taught thousands of students across India and internationally, promoting holistic well-being through traditional and scientific approaches to yoga. A PhD holder and triple master’s degree achiever, Dr. Mishra integrates ancient yogic wisdom with modern health practices. He is known for his deep understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and therapeutic yoga. As the Director of Yoga Song Khoe and founder of SKM Yoga, he continues to inspire lives through education, discipline, and compassionate teaching.
Rishikesh in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand is also called the capital of yoga. Located on the Ganges River, at the foot of the Himalayas, Rishikesh has a sacred status for Hindus. Besides yoga practitioners, pilgrims have also known how to find the city since time immemorial. Beyond the famous ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi there are dozens of ashrams and yoga centers.
During the TTC we will stay in a private ashram like location where you can choose between accommodation in a shared or private room. A private Yoga room is at our disposal. At the site of accomodation you will live in a healthy and natural daily rhythm, together with a few of the teachers. The kitchen is Sattvic vegetarian.
Varanasi is also known as Kashi or Benares. It is located in the north of India in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Varanasi lies along the river Ganges, more then 800 km. southwest of Rishikesh. Varanasi has a strong history, and is refered to by ancient mythological texts such as the mahabharat. Until today it has a strong traditional and spiritual significance.
During the last week of the TTC we will stay at a location in Varanasi.
Content of the Teacher Training Course
The course covers theoretical and practical aspects of Yoga.
The practical aspects include all prime Asana’s with background knowledge and how, why, when and when not to use them. Further you will learn about Pranayama, techniques leading to meditation and Kriyas. Attention is given to unique techniques & concepts pioneered by the founders of The Yoga Institute.
The theoretical aspects include introductions to the origin of yoga and yoga texts such as Hatha Yoga Pradipika. You will go into depth with the psychology and philosophy of Yoga. With the help of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, among others, you will consciously look at your own way of thinking and learn how to live an easier, healthier and happier life. The course includes anatomy and physiology classes and approaches to modern day topics such as dealing with stress.

The course covers theoretical and practical aspects of Yoga.
The practical aspects include 108 Asana’s with background knowledge and how, why, when and when not to use them. Further you will learn about Pranayama, Bandha, Mudra, Kriya, Bhajan and Dharana.
You will learn which specific practices are appropriate for various health conditions.
For the theoretical aspects you will go deeper in the philosophy. Concepts and Yoga scriptures originate from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Samkhya, Vedanta and Bhagavad Gita.
Furthermore, you will go deeper in the study of the human body.
